Summer Sangria

Dear Friends,

If ever there was a perfect summer drink, it would be sangria!!  You can't go wrong when you pair your favorite fruits with wine --- or simply have a refreshing version made with sparkling water.  Here is a recipe I used for a book club potluck-picnic.  Instead of wine I used a light prosecco and the seasonal fruit I had on hand.  It's kind of a fun "throw anything in that you love" drink...

Ingredients:
In a large pitcher mix...
-Chopped fruit at peak ripeness; I used slices of strawberry, peach, and orange
-1 bottle of your favorite bubbly (cava, champs, prosecco)
-1/4 - 1/2 cup orange liquor/triple sec
-Fill up to the top with your favorite orange juice (or just to taste)
-Splash of fresh lemon juice (optional)
-Garnish with fresh mint or lemon balm

As you let your fruits mix, the flavor becomes more intense.  Serve chilled and enjoy with friends!

There are hundreds of recipes out there --- whether you'd like a warmer sangria with red wine, or a refreshing apple. Happy (almost!) summer!

Until Soon,
Sara
