Kinfolk Workshop: Part 1

Dear Friends,

Hoping that you each had a wonderful Christmas & New Year!  I am so excited to share these beautiful images taken by The Pinwheel Collective from this past December's "Natural Home Decor" workshop.  It was a wintry afternoon filled with laughter, creating, and sweet friendship --- while the snow fell outside, we hunkered down together to practice the art of wreath and garland-making.

This was my first experience with Kinfolk events; I had read about these locally-hosted events around the world, from Madrid to Seoul, London to Istanbul...and Amy (our host) along with Hope, Katie, & Amelia have brought them to the Valley!  There is always a purpose at the workshops: small & intimate gatherings, studying the art of cooking/arranging/making, and forming meaningful connections through creating.  The ladies of Spring Creek Roller Mills shared beautiful stories of previously-hosted events --- new friendships, shared meals, inspiration.  This winter, they were kind enough to ask The Lady Jane to partner, and I enjoyed every moment of watching these talented women work & create.

The day of the workshop, I kept looking around wanting to pinch myself...it was a perfect setting inside Amy's cozy home, with her farm of chickens & goats nearby.  Katie captured even the smallest details that made this event so lovely, and Hope made wreaths and garlands that belonged on the cover of magazines.

I hope you have a chance to grab a cup of coffee & scroll through Part 1 of this lovely day.  Part 2 to follow soon!

Warmly,
Sara / "Jane" xx

Spring Creek Roller Mill dates back to the mid-1800s, and has a history as lovely
as the property.  You might recognize the barn from the 2nd Annual Barn Sale!
The greenery used throughout the workshop was fresh & foraged from
the surrounding Valley, including juniper, pine, holly, boxwood, and cyprus.
The morning of, we were still running(and laughing) around in the snow
gathering last-minute armfuls.
Oh how I wish I could have included the heavenly mixture of scents
from these fresh boughs & branches...it smelled of winter & of home.
While the snow continued outside, we stayed warm & cozy
enjoying fresh cider, homemade treats, & began to create...

Coming Soon, Kinfolk Workshop Part 2:
Creating natural decor, breaking bread together, leaving with a head full of ideas & inspiration...
